Nan’s Notes: August 2023

I have no idea why we continue to think of the summer as a “slow" time at NNPN. This year we've been busy on all fronts:

Membership has been processing renewals, welcoming six new Associate Members and preparing to begin accepting new Core Member applications.  Development is gathering the stories of the 25 years of NNPN’s impact on the field, while putting together some wonderful plans for the nationwide anniversary celebrations. Programming is readying for the 2024 Showcase and, of course, helping create FY24’s Rolling World Premiere partnerships.

Communications is growing (welcome Terry Li!), Impact Assessment (say hello to Alex Meda!) is finalizing its third biannual report while building more ways to support our Member Theaters as they expand NNPN’s efforts to help create a just and equitable new play ecology, and Admin keeps us all up and running as efficiently as possible.

We recently wrapped up our “quiet time” with a gathering of our normally remote staff, managing to rope in a visit to our 2024 Showcase site, Queens Theater, while on our way to Mystic, CT so we could hang out with the newest NNPNer, seen here wearing NNPN's premiere onesie.

We had a grand time, got a lot done, and laid out a schedule for an amazing year, full of new plays, developed, produced, and seen across America.

Morgan (Programs Director), Monica Montoya (Membership & Communications Manager), Christine Stanley (Senior Development Consultant), Lakesha York (Development Manager), and Nan Barnett (Executive Director).

Maybe summer was quiet – the coming year looks busy. We can’t wait to share with you all the plans we’ve made.

Happy 25th!!
